Serve

HOW WE SERVE

There are many ways we can continue to help our neighbor during a pandemic!  Ideas are below and more will continue to be added. Brad and Amber are now doing Community Connections the second Saturday of each month; check back each month for ideas on how you can love and serve your neighbor or check out previous ideas below. Our lunch ministry for CHUM Steve O'Neil apartments continues on the first and third Wednesday each month. Contact Sue Brown to volunteer or to contribute.

We have a crew of parishioners willing to help folks so if you are in need of something -- a delivery of food or medications or a homemade fabric mask -- please private message us or go to our COVID-19 Response Page to fill out a quick form.

United Way has a COVID-19 Community Economic Relief Fund. They will help with bills, rent and food. You can call 211 and provide zip code and will be given a list of local agencies to provide assistance.

Ways we can learn and take action to combat racism can be found here

Message from Amber: One of my favorite books is Tattoos on the Heart by Father Gregory Boyle, the founder of Homeboy Industries, one of the most successful gang intervention programs in our country. I was so excited when he was the keynote speaker at the St. Louis County Health and Human Services conference a few years ago! I would highly recommend this book, but today I thought I’d leave you with a quote from it: “There is no force in the world better able to alter anything from its course than love.” THANK YOU for all you do for our Duluth community.

Life House
Life House is grateful to the congregation of St. Pauls for their generous donation to the purchasing of gift cards for Christmas gifts for our community’s youth in need. We are planning a special holiday gathering for our youth, with Covid precautions. We have our outdoor area decorated with beautiful lights and a Christmas tree, complete with outdoor space heaters & special treats. Youth will be able to safely filter in over the course of several hours and get their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, receive thoughtful gifts, and head home with a delicious non perishable meal in a bag. Ministries such as this are meaningful because they show our youth that they are valued and loved by Life House and our community. Thank you!

Serve in the Church

There are numerous ways to serve at St. Paul's; assisting in leading worship, in the Faith Formation programs, serving on the lay leadership council called vestry or other committees.  Check out  "groups"  and contact the parish office for more information.

Pastoral Visits/Prayer Requests:

Hospital Visits:   Please call or email to let the pastoral care staff know if you or a loved one is in the hospital. Due to privacy laws, hospitals no longer call the church and let them know that a parishioner is a patient, so we have no way of knowing you are in the hospital if we don’t get notification.
Pastoral Visit:  The pastoral staff is available anytime if you would like to talk.

Prayer Requests:  If you or someone you know would like to have their name added to the list that is prayed for during Sunday services, please email
the name.
